How to discharge a battery

In this video we show the easy operation of the Amperis Battery Discharger. The equipment is very compact and incorporates a handle and 4 wheels to move it comfortably. These devices develop a controlled discharge of the battery maintaining the constant current through a high frequency converter. The operation is completely automatic: just connect the battery, set the stop voltage, the maximum time and the discharge current.

We are going to make an example of how to perform the discharge:

  1. First of all we make sure that we don´t have any computer connected, neither in the RS-232 port nor in the USB port.
  2. Secondly we would connect the cables to the battery and turn on the discharger.
  3. Just turn it on, the device tells us what the battery voltage is and then what the stop voltage is.
  1. To start the discharge we must place the 2 potentiometers to zero, for this we turn both knobs to the left.
  2. To start the process, simultaneously press the plus and minus keys.
  3. From now on we adjust the 2 potentiometers to adjust the current to the value we want (in this case, since there is no connected battery, since it is an explanatory video, it will finish the test immediately).

During the test we can visualize all the parameters in real time, such as the battery voltage, the programmed stop voltage, the time, the discharged capacity and the current.

The test ends automatically, when the battery reaches the stop voltage or the time reaches the maximum test time.

The equipment is an automatic battery analyzer and discharger designed to test the efficiency of industrial batteries of any type, voltage and capacity.

The Discharger is very simple to use and does not require specific training. The programming of the tests, as you have seen, requires less than two minutes and the operation is completely automatic.
