New circuit breaker analyzers and relay timers

Amperis Products SL, in its search to offer its customers the most complete and highest quality equipment, presents the CAT I and CAT II series, easy to operate analyzers and switch timers, with a simple and robust design for field use . These relay test equipment allows us to obtain an accurate measurement in high voltage environments. With these analyzers measurements of time and movement are made, as well as voltage and current. The great advantage of these circuit breaker test equipment, besides its versatility, is the detailed analysis of the results obtained in the tests through the DV-Win software. In addition, the CAT II Series features the BSG (both sides grounded), allows the measurement of dynamic resistance and incorporates a micro ohmmeter up to 500A.

CAT I Series - Circuit Breaker Analyzers & Timers

These analyzers are used in the evaluation of the switches, recording the closing and opening of the arc, the resistance and the auxiliary contacts, as well as the graphics of the tripping and closing currents and the displacement of moving parts of High Voltage and Medium Voltage.

CAT II Series - Circuit Breaker Analyzers & Timers

These relay test equipment are independent and digital instruments controlled by a computer. The timing channels record the closing and opening of the arc, the resistance and the auxiliary contacts. The equipment evaluates the conditions of the switches and the main contact channels can also measure the resistance value of the pre-insertion resistors. The equipment records the graphs of the opening and closing coil currents and the displacements of the moving parts of the switch.

The switch operation can be started in different ways and the list of applications includes:

Measurement of time: This is one of the fundamental and most important tests to know the real condition of the relay. Our equipment meets all the requirements of IEC 62271-100 and IEEE C37.09.

Measurement of movement: This test is crucial to determine the condition of the test object. To know the wear of the relay, we measure performance values such as contact friction, rebound, overrun, etc. and we compare them with the reference data of the manufacturer and previous medicines.

Coil current measurement: The IEC 62271-100 standard establishes the register of coil waveform currents and the operating mechanism as they provide information on the condition of the coils.

First Trip test: This test is of great importance to know the state of the mechanism of operation of the coil. As the switch is most driving, it is important that although it is inactive for years that responds properly as soon as it detects a problem, operating quickly.

DV-win Software: Our software facilitates the acquisition of data as well as the detailed analysis of the results of the tests and the control of all the functions of the equipment through the computer.

Some technical data

Main contact inputs: The number of contact entries depends on the type of analyzer. Each channel detects the insertion of the resistance contacts: closed ≤ 10 Ω, open ≥ 5 kΩ. The open circuit voltage is 20 VDC and the short-circuit current is 50 mA.

Auxiliary inputs: Number of channels: 3, galvanically isolated (the external trigger input can be used as a third auxiliary input). User-selectable: dry (Open circuit voltage: 24 V DC, short-circuit current: 5 mA) or wet (operating voltage 300 V DC, 250 V AC). Protection against overcurrent and overvoltage.

Measurement of time: 0.1ms (10 kHz), 1ms (1kHz) y 10ms (100Hz)

Switch operation: Closed (C), Open (O), Closed-Open (CO), Open-Closed (OC), Open-Closed-Open (OCO) and Test First trip (The user can select any test sequence desired).
