The olive stone as a source of organic energy

Another Rapidox 7100 unit that we have just shipped to the oil and biomass sector. This device is used for countless processes. As a reminder, our previous sale was intended to measure the gas in sludge incineration.

On this occasion it will be used for the process of burning olive stones and generating biomass as a clean energy source.

The olive stone is one of the most important residues generated in olive oil production, with the capacity to become a clean fuel. At the end of the olive harvesting season, the stones were normally taken to landfill. Recently, however, this trend has changed and there are now companies that recycle them and use them as an energy source.

The organic matter left by this stone, once dry, is considered a first-rate biomass, useful for example to feed biomass boilers, or the stove or boiler in your home. Biomass barely pollutes and, thanks to this, the burning of fuels that are harmful to the environment is avoided. To this we can add that there are processes to make it even more efficient and cleaner, such as subjecting the stones and the pulp to a gasification procedure and extracting from that biomass a gas which, once burnt, is more efficient in energy generation and even cleaner than burning the stone directly.
