ARFU-2

Gas filling regulation unit ARFU-2 SF6

Lightweight, rugged unit to evacuate air and moisture and refill SF6 equipment with standard cylinders.

One cart, two operations

The ARFU-2 combines, in a single cart, the evacuation of air and moisture from switchgear and circuit-breaker compartments and the subsequent regulated filling with standard SF6 cylinders. Its lightweight yet rugged frame and large tires make it easy to move over uneven or gravel surfaces in substations.

One valve, two modes

A 3-way ball valve switches between evacuation and filling with no need to rewire hoses. The permanently mounted vacuum pump reaches a sealed pressure below 0.03 mbar; filling is user-regulated through a pressure regulator, with an integral vacuum gauge to follow the process.

Key advantages

  • Single-valve operation to switch between evacuation and filling.
  • Large tires for movement over gravel or uneven ground.
  • High-capacity vacuum pump, permanently mounted on the cart.
  • Regulated gas filling, adjustable by the user.
  • Integral vacuum gauge on the control panel.
  • Supplied with 3 m hoses and a power cable.

Applications and operation

Applications

  • Evacuation of air and moisture prior to filling SF6 equipment.
  • Regulated filling of switchgear and circuit-breaker compartments with SF6.
  • Field commissioning and maintenance of gas-insulated equipment.
  • Monitoring of vacuum and filling pressure through integral gauges.

How it works

The process runs in two stages linked by the same 3-way valve: the compartment is first evacuated with the vacuum pump until free of air and moisture; the same valve then connects the SF6 cylinder to the equipment through the pressure regulator, which controls the filling pressure while the vacuum gauge is used to follow each stage.

Options

  • Special supply voltages on request.
  • Longer hoses for hard-to-reach installations.
