Amperis presents the transformer turns ratio meters of the TRT03, TRT3x, TRT4x and TRT63 series, built on state-of-the-art technology using the most advanced technique available today. They are automatic, three-phase instruments designed to measure:
- the turns ratio of the windings
- the phase angle shift
- the excitation current of power and distribution transformers
The TRT applies voltages across the high-voltage windings and accurately measures the voltages across the unloaded transformer windings in order to determine the transformer turns ratio.
The DV-Win software lets you configure the test and create test plans in advance. All results are shown numerically and graphically for easy analysis, and a 112 mm thermal printer can be supplied with the instrument. Every TRT comes with a USB flash drive to transfer the results and with a tap changer control unit, which allows remote tap changing and measurement of the tap changer ratio.
In accordance with the requirements of IEC 60076-1, the test set can be used on single-phase and three-phase transformers, with and without a tap changer. For a three-phase measurement it is connected to the three phases of the transformer. The TRT range runs a specific test for each transformer type once the corresponding vector diagrams are selected (delta-wye, wye-delta, delta-delta, wye-wye, delta-zigzag and so on), with no need to change the test leads. When the test finishes it displays the turns ratio, the phase shift and the excitation current.
To calculate the turns ratio deviation, the nameplate voltages can be entered directly, which removes possible operator calculation errors. The TRT also compares the test result with the nameplate ratio and prints the percentage error for each test.
Incorrect test conditions, transformer problems or abnormal operation are detected through error messages. A notable feature of the Amperis TRT instruments is their high ability to cancel electrostatic and electromagnetic interference in high-voltage electric fields, thanks to very efficient filtering.
