BDCS

Battery discharge container system

Safe and efficient discharge of battery packs before recycling.

Residual energy, outside the workshop

The BDCS gathers in a 10-foot shipping container everything needed to extract the residual energy from battery packs before recycling. The process runs outdoors, away from the working areas, and the whole system is moved like any standard container.

Two simultaneous discharge units

The two-level rack, with 1325 × 1100 mm shelves and a 1000 kg loading capacity, holds two packs discharged at the same time by two BLU700C units of up to 260 A and 42.0 kW each, governed by the central control.

Main features

  • 10-foot container: 2991 × 2438 × 2591 mm, about 900 kg.
  • Industrial computer with a 15-inch display.
  • Two thermal cameras with automatic temperature shutdown.
  • Gas detection sensor connected to the PLC.
  • Two alarm towers with visual and audible signalling.
  • Integrated ventilation to dissipate the discharge heat.

Safety and control

A PLC that supervises everything

The central control gathers the inputs from the industrial computer, the thermal cameras, the gas sensor and the emergency stop button, and halts the discharge whenever necessary, triggering the visual and audible alarms.

Thermal monitoring with automatic stop

The operator sets the temperature to be monitored; if the cameras measure a higher value, the test stops automatically. The feed from both cameras is followed live on the 15-inch display.

Applications

  • Discharging battery packs before recycling.
  • End of life of electric vehicle and stationary batteries.
  • Documented processes at recycling plants and waste managers.
  • Preparing batteries for safe transport or storage.
