Hydrogen area monitoring for battery rooms and cabinets. Batteries on charge give off hydrogen. It is colourless, odourless and lighter than air, so it gathers at the highest point of the room long before anyone notices it. HY-GUARD is an all in one hydrogen area monitor. It measures from 0.4 to 5% hydrogen in air, detects a change in under 5 seconds, and reaches the one percent alarm in about 60 seconds. Two solid state sensors work as a pair.
One measures while the other corrects drift, every 12 hours, for the life of the unit. No calibration gases, no bump testing, no site visits, and an alert if sensor performance ever degrades. Everything a technician needs to read is on the front face: Four indicators, an infrared button, and an audible buzzer for local status. It talks to whatever the site already has: Three form C relays, a 4 to 20 milliamp output, and Modbus over RS-485.
It installs wherever the room allows: a punch out, a standard junction box, a DIN rail, or a magnetic surface. It weighs half a kilo. And it was designed against the standards your facility is inspected on, from the fire codes to the battery and energy storage standards. 10 years of service without a calibration visit, in a unit that fits in one hand. Hydrogen area monitoring, from Amperis.
