The CoroCAM 7HD locates corona and arc discharges on high-voltage installations, combining a focusable viewfinder, long optical zoom and sensitivity settings built for the professional inspector.

Advantages

Certified ultraviolet detection

The ultraviolet channel detects emissions of up to 2.05×10-18 W/cm², with sensitivity certified by Westenergie Netzservice GmbH (Eurotest Germany) to IEC 60270:2000, at 1.0 pC at 15 m in both solar-blind (SB) and non-solar-blind (NSB) modes.

Long-range optical zoom

The visible channel provides 1920×1080 pixels and 30x optical zoom (58.9° to 2.11°), with stepped or smooth zoom and a maximum angular resolution of 0.01917 mrad, letting the operator examine the detail of an insulator or fitting from a safe distance.

Viewfinder and grip built for professional use

The viewfinder is ventilated, focusable and adjustable in angle, and the rotating grip with a one-handed keypad lets the camera be held in different stances without muscle fatigue during long inspections.

Ready for indoor work

The motorised non-solar-blind (NSB) module and the adjustable LED flashlight make the CoroCAM 7HD suitable for indoor substations and low-light buildings.

Applications

  • Inspection of high-voltage lines and substations with maximum optical detail.
  • Locating corona and arc discharges on insulators, fittings and joints.
  • Indoor inspections in substations and buildings using the NSB module and built-in flashlight.
  • Periodic predictive-maintenance checks for utilities.

About the product

The ultraviolet channel offers 6 preset colour combinations and 100 user-configurable hues, with independent control of threshold, UV layer transparency and integration mode (adjustable period, summation or noise reduction). The camera boots to inspection mode in 6 seconds and supports 10 user profiles to adapt to different operators or installations.

With a rotating grip and a weight of 2.2 kg, it houses a 5.7-inch LCD display (640×480 pixels) and an 800×600 viewfinder with a ventilated rubber eyepiece. It includes a built-in microphone and speaker, internal GPS, HDMI and composite video output, and Ethernet, USB and RS-232/485 ports. IP55 protection and a -15°C to 55°C range allow continuous field use.

Accessories available: neckstrap and camera harness.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between SB and NSB sensitivity?

SB (solar-blind) mode filters out sunlight for outdoor use; NSB mode removes that filter to gain sensitivity indoors or at night. On the CoroCAM 7HD both are certified to the same value: 1.0 pC at 15 m.

What does the 30x zoom add?

It allows insulators, fittings or joints to be examined in fine optical detail without approaching live equipment, improving inspector safety.

Can it be used indoors in low light?

Yes, the motorised NSB module and the built-in adjustable-brightness LED flashlight make it suitable for indoor substations and buildings.

What autonomy and weight does the camera have?

It weighs 2.2 kg with battery and offers up to 3 hours of continuous use with tool-free swappable lithium-ion batteries.
