U.S. T&D moves to the West Coast
DISTRIBUTECH International (DTECH) returns in 2026 in its roaming format, this time at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, from 2 to 5 February. As the leading annual transmission and distribution (T&D) event in the United States, it brings together hundreds of exhibitors and a broad audience of utilities, cooperatives, engineering firms and technology providers. The 2026 edition adds dedicated tracks on data centres and artificial intelligence, a phenomenon driving up electricity demand and stressing the grid.
For Amperis, this thematic shift widens the target audience beyond the traditional grid operator, bringing in those responsible for critical infrastructure and backup power.
California: technical demand and market opportunity
San Diego places the show in California, one of the most demanding U.S. power markets in terms of reliability, renewable integration and electrification. The West Coast also concentrates a substantial share of data-centre deployment, which relies on uninterruptible power systems and large backup battery banks.
Maintaining a continued presence on the DTECH circuit (Dallas 2025, San Diego 2026) consolidates Amperis as a recurring, recognisable supplier in the North American market, where consistent show presence weighs on the purchasing decision.
What it brings to Amperis: positioning by product
The 2026 emphasis on data centres and critical infrastructure activates a particularly relevant part of the Amperis catalogue:
- Battery maintenance and charging. The chargers and rectifiers, the dischargers and the battery testers are essential for backup systems in data centres and substations. The full range is under battery maintenance and charging.
- Substation diagnostics. micro-ohmmeters, RMO TW Series, transformer turns-ratio meters and insulation-resistance testers cover the maintenance of the assets feeding the new demand.
- Reliability and earthing. The earth-resistance testers, the loop-impedance meters and the network analysers verify the electrical safety of critical installations.
- Predictive inspection. The thermal imaging cameras and the PULD 40 partial-discharge system help anticipate faults in environments where downtime carries a high cost.
Continuity of the American strategy
DISTRIBUTECH International 2026 extends the Amperis commitment to North America and sets the stage for its participation in the IEEE PES T&D in Chicago in May 2026. Browse the full catalogue or write to the team via contact.
