5 kV insulation resistance meter with measurements up to 15 TΩ
The AMIC-5005 measures insulation resistance from 50 kΩ to 15 TΩ with test voltages up to 5 kV adjustable in steps as fine as 10 V, and stores 11880 results in memory for transfer to a PC.
Advantages
Fine control of the test voltage
Any voltage from 50 to 1000 V in 10 V steps and from 1000 to 5000 V in 25 V steps, with test currents of 1.2 or 3 mA and continuous indication of resistance or leakage current.
Up to 15 TΩ with confidence
The measuring range per EN 61557-2 spans 50 kΩ to 15 TΩ, with a basic accuracy of ±(3 % of reading + 10 digits) and automatic discharge of the object capacitance after each test.
Full diagnostic indices
PI and DAR indices, step-voltage sequences (SV) up to 5 kV with steps of 30 s to 5 min, dielectric discharge calculation (DD) and capacitance and leakage-current measurement during the test.
Stable in noisy environments
Digital filters of 10, 30 or 60 s deliver stable results in environments with heavy noise contamination, and protection against live objects prevents connection errors.
Memory for entire campaigns
990 memory banks store 11880 records, transferred to a PC through the USB cable or wirelessly with the optional USB-OR receiver; keyboard and display are backlit.
Applications
- Insulation testing of transformers, motors and generators.
- Single- and multi-core cables in substations.
- Capacitors, switchgear and other power station equipment.
- Periodic maintenance of medium-voltage installations.

Frequently asked questions
What resistance range does it cover?
From 50 kΩ to 15 TΩ per EN 61557-2, with the maximum range of 15 TΩ available at the 5 kV test voltage.
How finely can the test voltage be adjusted?
In 10 V steps between 50 and 1000 V and in 25 V steps between 1000 and 5000 V.
Does it support step-voltage testing?
Yes. SV sequences reach 5 kV — for example 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 kV — with each step lasting from 30 seconds to 5 minutes and every result stored in memory.
How many results does the memory hold?
990 banks with a total of 11880 records, transferred by USB cable or wirelessly with the optional USB-OR receiver.
What power supply does it use?
The 90-265 V, 50/60 Hz mains or the built-in battery pack, with a fast charger and a low-battery warning.
