High-resolution thermal imaging camera, with dual infrared and visible-light detection
Thermography of substations and transmission lines, where the target is usually far away, calls for a camera with high spatial resolution and good thermal sensitivity that also records where and in which direction each image was taken. The DL-801/2-M does it with an uncooled FPA detector of 640x480 (DL801-M) or 1024x768 (DL802-M), a spatial resolution of 0.67 or 0.49 mrad, a NETD of 0.03 °C at 30 °C and a super pixel of up to 2048x1536, with built-in GPS, electronic compass and laser ranging that accompany every image with the shooting location and orientation.

About the product
The range is sold in two variants: the DL801-M, with a 640x480 detector and a temperature range extendable up to 1200 °C or 1500 °C, and the DL802-M, with a 1024x768 detector and a range extendable up to 1200 °C or 2000 °C; both share the rest of the characteristics. The camera measures with an accuracy of +/-1 °C or +/-1 % between 0 and 150 °C, and +/-2 °C or +/-2 % within the rest of the range, with up to 10 movable points and 10 movable measurement areas, a movable line, isothermal analysis and a temperature alarm.
It runs on a rechargeable lithium battery, with 3 hours of continuous operation, and transfers images and video to a PC via Mini-USB Type C, with an HDMI output, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and IP54 protection to work between -15 °C and +50 °C.

Frequently asked questions
What thermal camera resolution do I need to inspect substations and lines from a distance?
The smaller the spatial resolution (IFOV), the smaller the hot spot that can be measured reliably at a given distance. The DL802-M offers 1024x768 pixels and 0.49 mrad, and the DL801-M 640x480 and 0.67 mrad; both DL-801/2-M versions have a NETD of 0.03 °C at 30 °C and a super pixel of 2048x1536 or 1280x960.
Up to what temperature does the DL-801/2-M measure?
As standard, from -40 °C to +650 °C; with the extended range, the DL801-M reaches 1200 °C or 1500 °C and the DL802-M 1200 °C or 2000 °C. Accuracy is ±1 °C or ±1 % between 0 and 150 °C and ±2 °C or ±2 % over the rest of the range.
What is the difference between the DL801-M and the DL802-M?
The detector resolution (640x480 versus 1024x768) and the top end of the extended temperature range (1500 °C versus 2000 °C).
Can the image be analysed on a PC?
Yes, the images and the raw video stream are transferred via Mini-USB Type C for analysis and report generation.
Does it include GPS location?
Yes, together with an electronic compass and laser ranging, all built into the camera body. The position is recorded as latitude and longitude; to express it in UTM ETRS89 or ED50, use the coordinate converter.
How long does the battery last?
3 hours of continuous operation with the rechargeable lithium battery, with automatic sleep and shutdown.
