Battery ES Tech Europe 2026: Amperis and the full battery life cycle

Amperis at Battery ES Tech Europe 2026 (Fira de Barcelona): equipment to charge, discharge, monitor and diagnose batteries and to track the H2 they release.

On 8 and 9 September 2026, Amperis took part in Battery Energy Storage Tech Europe, in Hall 2 of the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona.

A new European event for energy storage

Battery Energy Storage Tech Europe held its first edition in 2026, devoted to energy storage and battery technology. The event brought manufacturers, integrators, utilities and operators of critical facilities together in Barcelona.

For Amperis, the show confirmed a line of work that has been growing for years. Battery storage is no longer limited to back-up power for substations and data centres: it is now part of the grid, of industry and of renewables. The more a facility depends on its batteries, the more it costs not to know their real condition.

From reactive maintenance to data-driven maintenance

The battery is often the least watched element of a critical system, and its failure is only discovered when it is needed. The Amperis proposition covers the stages that determine its reliability:

  • Charging. Chargers and rectifiers for stationary lead-acid and Ni-Cd batteries, with controlled charging profiles and recovery cycles for sulphated batteries.
  • Discharging. Dischargers and load banks for capacity tests to IEEE 450, IEEE 1188 and IEC 60896, which measure the real autonomy of the bank rather than the rated one.
  • Diagnostics and monitoring. Battery testers measure the internal resistance of each cell, and the BVS monitoring system records how the bank behaves during charge and discharge, so the cell that degrades faster than the rest is caught in time.
  • Monitoring of released hydrogen. Batteries release H2 while charging. The hydrogen area monitor measures its concentration continuously in the battery room: it protects people, prevents explosive atmospheres and warns of overcharging or ventilation failures. In lithium batteries, hydrogen is also the first alarm of thermal runaway.

Open tools for the technician

Besides the equipment, Amperis offers free tools on its website. The battery life forecast estimates the state of health of a bank from field measurements, and the battery sizing calculator works out the capacity each installation needs. The article on battery life forecasting and state of health (SOH) explains the method.

A technical partner for the whole life of the battery

European energy storage is growing very fast, and so is the need to maintain it. Amperis aims to support the battery throughout its life: from commissioning to the diagnosis that decides whether a bank stays in service or must be replaced. Thank you to all the professionals who visited us in Barcelona for the conversations and the challenges they shared with us.
