The AGTU recovers, consolidates and transfers SF6 from circuit breakers and small-volume gas equipment up to 69 kV, using an oil-less, direct-drive compressor with a 1000:1 compression ratio.

Advantages

Compact solution for small volumes

Designed for jobs that do not call for a high-capacity unit, the AGTU handles recovery, consolidation of partially used cylinders and gas transfer in a single portable unit.

High pressure without oil

The oil-less, direct-drive compressor, with a 1000:1 compression ratio, reaches up to 34 bar of discharge pressure, enough to liquefy SF6 even at high ambient temperatures.

Regulated inlet for high-pressure bottles

The regulated inlet allows direct connection to high-pressure bottles, with no need to throttle the gas before it enters the unit.

Purification on every cycle

The gas is purified, dried and filtered down to 0.1 microns both during recovery and re-pressurization, with a colour-change moisture indicator to track its condition.

Simple maintenance

Filters are replaced without disconnecting any tubing or using special tools, and the compressor shuts down automatically once the maximum allowable pressure is reached.

Applications

  • Recovery of SF6 gas to an optional auxiliary storage tank.
  • Pressure-regulated recharging of SF6 gas to switchgear.
  • Consolidation of partially used storage cylinders.
  • Purification of the gas: removes particles, moisture and decomposition products.

About the product

The unit is housed in a rugged steel enclosure, suited to working directly with SF6 tanks, bottles or carts. It recovers gas from the equipment down to a residual pressure of 100 mbar, or below 1 mbar with the optional XDS vacuum module, then transfers it at a rate of up to 2 m³/h. It runs on 120 V or 220 V single-phase power and ships with 3 m hoses and a power cable.

Available accessories: XDS vacuum module for recovery below 1 mbar, auxiliary external storage tank, longer hoses and special supply voltages on request.

Frequently asked questions

What size of equipment is the AGTU designed for?

Circuit breakers and small-volume SF6 equipment up to 69 kV; it is the low-cost alternative to high-capacity units.

What vacuum level does it reach during recovery?

Standard recovery reaches down to 100 mbar; with the optional XDS module, residual pressure drops below 1 mbar.

Can it connect directly to high-pressure bottles?

Yes. The regulated inlet allows direct connection to high-pressure bottles with no need to throttle the gas.

How often do the filters need changing?

Filters are replaced when the moisture indicator changes colour; the design allows this without disconnecting tubing or using special tools.

What power supply does it need?

It runs on 120 V or 220 V single-phase, at 50 or 60 Hz depending on the installation.
