Electronic temperature monitor: replaces mechanical gauges, calculates the winding hot spot and controls transformer cooling
The B100 is an electronic temperature monitor (ETM) that replaces up to five mechanical gauges for top oil and winding hot spot. It measures with RTD probes and current transformers and reports the data over Ethernet or a serial link using the usual SCADA protocols.

Mechanical gauge needles stick over time. The B100 replaces up to five gauges — top oil, LTC oil and up to three winding hot spots — and stores the temperature and alarm history.
Day and night readable display
The backlit display, with 30 mm digits and a fifteen-segment bar graph, is clearly readable from up to 60 feet, in bright sunlight or at night, with no need to open the enclosure.
Configuration without a computer
The four front-panel pushbuttons let you configure alarms and setpoints in the field or remotely, with no software installation: the unit is up and running within minutes.
Built for the outdoors
The cast aluminium enclosure, rated IP66/NEMA-4, withstands water, dirt and temperatures from -40°C to 70°C, with a service life beyond twenty years and no recalibration.
Integrated secure communications
It connects to SCADA via DNP3, Modbus or IEC 61850 over Ethernet or RS-485/fibre, and supports the iBridge system to communicate over existing power wiring.

About the product
The B100 provides two RTD inputs, three current inputs for load and hot-spot calculation, and configurable relay outputs for alarms, trips and cooling. The LTC Delta T analytic filters out false alarms, and the built-in web dashboard lets you view the data from any browser with no software licences.
It can be expanded with a hydrogen and/or moisture sensor for an all-in-one solution with remote notification of problems in the oil or insulating paper.
Accessories available: auxiliary current transformers CT-054 and CT-055 (1000:1, 5 A); magnetic-mount temperature sensors MMTS-3C and MMTS-3W; SE-060 RTD probe for a 1/2" NPT thermal well; and the iBridge communications system (CE-520/CE-530 and IND2000N to IND2100N couplers).
