APQM Series: power quality analyzers
APQM Series analysers are portable and panel-mounted power quality instruments that record harmonics, flicker, dips, swells and interruptions on LV and MV networks. Use them to audit supply quality against EN 50160 and to trace the cause of nuisance trips, overheating and misbehaving sensitive loads.
What do they measure and how?
An APQM samples all three phase voltages and currents plus neutral simultaneously, computes parameters to IEC 61000-4-30 — harmonics to IEC 61000-4-7, flicker to IEC 61000-4-15 — and stores time-stamped events with waveforms. Recorded data downloads to PC software for compliance reporting.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Class A and Class S?
IEC 61000-4-30 Class A fixes the algorithms and accuracy needed for contractual or regulatory measurements that must match between instruments; Class S allows wider tolerances and suits statistical surveys and general troubleshooting.
How long should a measurement campaign run?
EN 50160 conformity is normally assessed over at least one full week of 10-minute aggregated values, so that weekday and weekend load cycles are both captured.
Do APQM units also meter energy?
Yes. Besides quality parameters they record active and reactive energy per phase, which is useful for checking billing and allocating internal consumption.
